I've played the violin since I was three years old.

When I was two years old, my mother took me to a concert put on by some local youth fiddlers. I was mesmerized. When I returned home, I told both my parents that I was going to be a fiddler when I grew up. They thought that was cute, but I was serious. I didn't give up, and so my parents decided to buy me my first violin when I was three years old. Since then, violin has been a huge part of my life. It has brought me together with my best friends, it has travelled with me throughout the world, and it has been my constant passion.

In 2011, I started posting YouTube videos, and they began to get some attention. I noticed that many of my followers were violinists themselves who had turned to youtube to find inspiration and learn new skills. Many people asked me for tutorial videos explaining how to play by ear, how to play certain tunes, and how to improvise.

Those comments inspired me to create an online violin school, which has turned into the website you're now looking at. I have spent hundreds of hours over three years creating the site (I knew NOTHING about building websites when I started!!) and preparing countless tutorials for you to enjoy.

For me, the violin has always been something that I have loved with all of my heart, and I want to convey that love to you. I've designed these lessons to be fun, motivating, and effective. Violin should never be a chore – it should be a passion.

    Knowing how to play the violin the way that I do has opened up COUNTLESS doors. I’ve played for guests on a tall ship in the Mediterranean, I’ve supported my travels through busking on the street, I’ve travelled across Canada to perform at music festivals and shows, I’ve made best friends with people who I never would’ve met without music, and most importantly, I’ve been able to teach and inspire the next generation to find these same incredible opportunities.

Playing the violin has changed my life, and I believe it can change yours too. It’s not only an extremely satisfying skill, but it’s a way to connect with people on a profound level. Music is a language, and learning how to speak it opens up a new world. Let me show you.
